Miss Nigeria 2013 Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha caused quite a stir in Owerri the capital of Imo State on Friday when she attended the homecoming of Alumni at her alma-meter Federal Government Girls College, Owerri.
Excitement, jubilation and bewilderment were the emotions felt by both the current and old girls of FGGC Owerri. For some it was a dream come true - being able to see a Miss Nigeria live.
Screaming fans gathered outside the venue to catch a glimpse of the six feet tall Queen after the event.
When she walked out of the hall the students and other fans from around were tripping and falling over each other while trying to get the attention of the 23-year-old beauty queen. In efforts to reach her they were pulling her hair, hands and clothes. It took the help of family and friends to rescue her from their grasp.
Ezinne, who was wearing a green jacket on a black gown, during her speech at the event spoke to the girls on how to discover themselves and buttressed that they don't need a crown to be 'queen'.
While giving them tips on how to achieve that, she stressed the need for being disciplined, not compromising, developing themselves, having respect, being positive, being confident and putting God first.
She also advised that, it is only in secondary school that they can really work and develop these qualities because as soon as they go into higher institution it is dangerous freedom all the way and not much can be achieved by then.
She however thanked the school and the Alumni excos for making her witness the day.
As FGGC Owerri celebrates her 40th anniversary this weekend, the school will present an award of Excellence to Miss Anyaoha for making the school proud. Culled from Daily times.
