Lady Gaga Almost trips in her sky-high shoes as she steps out...

Which way is up? Lady Gaga looked confused in more ways than one on Wednesday when she stepped out of her apartment in an absurd mish-mash of purple and outrageous heels in New York City
She will push the boundaries of fashion to dizzying heights in the hope of snagging attention.

And it looked like this time Lady Gaga literally had in fact lost her balance as she teetered around unsteadily outside her New York City apartment on Wednesday,
wearing super high heels and blowfly-inspired shades.

The 27-year-old had clearly insisted upon a very purple colour scheme for her outing which saw her - once again - sacrificing practicality for shock value.
Striking a pose: Every day is a blank canvas for the attention-seeking 27-year-old who secured her tight white leggings to her baggy printed ensemble
The monstrous platform sandals on Gaga's feet were an innocent shade of lavender with pretty straps reminiscent of a seven-year-old's party shoes.

But the edge of each shoe was fitted with a metal contraption, both of which looked like they could be used to open beer bottles or possibly hurt somebody in a fight.

Gaga teamed the shoes with an ill-fitting one-piece ensemble which looked to be inspired by outer space.

The heavily tailored silver, white and purple jumpsuit was patterned with an array of hands performing non-specific functions, and was tied together at the waist to give the singer some  definition.

The bottom of the fabric continued on into a pair of white leggings, causing an odd bulbous effect around the performer's thighs.

Committing yet another fashion faux-pas, she slipped a pair of black socks beneath the leggings and platform sandals.

A balancing act: The purple shoes chosen by Gaga seemed to forego practicality in the name of sheer absurdity
Finishing off the look, the Applause singer wore a bright purple turban on her head.

Gaga is an avid connoisseur of sunglasses, but her selection on Wednesday certainly did not look conducive to effective vision.
The blowfly-esque shades featured mirrored lenses and judging by the way she wobbled about on the pavement, seeing out of them was secondary to drawing attention in them.
